| Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon visited Nepal from 31 October to 1 November 2008. While he was in the country he met with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal "Prachanda", President Ram Baran Yadav, Foreign Minister Upendra Yadav, Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala, CPN(UML) General Secretary Jhala Nath Khanal, and Constituent Assembly Chairman Subhas Nembang. He also attended a dinner hosted by the Prime Minister, addressed members of the Constituent Assembly, spoke at a press conference and visited the UNESCO World Heritage site of Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. |
